El Hierro is the smallest island in the Canary Islands. Of the eight, it is the furthest west, but it shares the same climate (almost)as the others. A paradise in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.

What to expect ?

  • Start
    the Pick up from your hotel and depart from the port of Los
    Cristianos at 7:55. We arrive at Port de la Estaca at 10:30.

  • Mirador
    de la Pena Arrive at Port de la Estaca at 10:30, landing, we will
    start our excursion in the direction of "Mirador de la Peña"
    where we will take a break to admire both the designed and
    constructed work of Cesar Manrique and the fantastic view from over
    700 meters height on the caldera where we will also see "los
    Roques del Salmor" and the gulf of Frontera.

  •  Mirador
    de Jinama After about 20/25 minutes we will continue our tour to
    visit the El Mirador de Jinama to continue enjoying the spectacular
    view of 1300 meters of the Gulf of Frontera.

  •  City
    of La Frontera Then, in order to arrive at Frontera, we will be able
    to observe the Laurisilva ecosystem Rural Park. during the descent
    we will discover how the lush vegetation changes to leave space to
    the drier area that man used to cultivate fabulous vineyards from
    the era of conquest. Arriving in Frontera we will go to lunch at a
    local restaurant where you will try the typical dishes of the
    island.

  • Piscina
    Natural La Maceta After Lunch we will continue our fantastic trip to
    visit the unspoilt coast of the island at points like natural pool
    of La Maceta.

  • Hotel
    Puntagrande only adults we arrive after La maceta at hotel Punta
    Grande for see the smallest hotel of the world. this hotel is a
    simbol in this island and we see a great wiew of the cliff and the
    roques del Salmor.

  • Iglesia
    de la Concepción The last stop will be at La Concepción Church to
    visit its colonial architecture and then go down to Port de la
    Estaca. at 20.00 we will arrive you to the port of Los Cristianos.

El Hierro, the island with soul has lots to tell us because it takes many years, decades and millenniums to be attain such a strong identity as El Hierro has.

The island has historically been known by many different names before arriving at its current one OmbrionCaparariaPluvialiaEseró or Hero were some of the most well-known. However, there is no doubt that Meridian Isle is the name that hides the greatest and most famous story. This name is supposed to have been given by Ptolemy, a Greco-Roman astronomer who, in the 2nd century AD, situated the prime meridian in the extreme west of the island, exactly coinciding with Punta de Orchilla on El Hierro. It would remain like that for centuries, until it was moved to Greenwich in 1884.
